Our approach to Mediation is rooted in the notion that people are often stuck, caught in cycles of misunderstanding, heightened emotion, or entrenched positions. Our role is not as decision-makers: we create calm, thoughtful spaces where clients can safely explore difficult issues, identify and express how they feel, talk about what matters most to them, and engage in constructive dialogue.

Our story

TARA Mediation was founded by Leanne, Lisa and Lucinda – three women with distinct professional backgrounds who share a common belief: that people can resolve even the most challenging conflicts when given the right space, support, and guidance. With this in mind, we trust every client’s ability to resolve their disputes in a way that is meaningful and lasting.

The name TARA reflects the essence of our work and approach. In Sanskrit, Tara means star, and in Hindu and Buddhist traditions, Tara is a figure of compassion, protection, and transformation. In Tibetan Buddhism, she is known as “she who ferries across” – a guide who helps others cross the ocean of challenge to reach a place of clarity and liberation.

This symbolism resonates deeply with how we approach Mediation. Our purpose is to support people to move across, from impasse to understanding, frustration to clarity, and from conflict to constructive resolution. We aim to support not just agreement, but genuine transformation, a shift in perspective, achieved through transparent communication.

At TARA Mediation, we do not impose solutions. We empower you. We help you find your own way forward.

Because resolution is often not just about ending conflict:
it’s about reparation, restoring relationships, and creating lasting change.
